Come with me on a journey around the Old Windsor Club to see the facilities that are on offer.

From the outside, the club appears as a quite  plain brick built two storey building, enhanced in the summer by hanging baskets of flowers, we have outside tables with Umbrellas (for days when the weather is suitable). The building itself is situated between a Catholic Church and a hardware shop in the heart of the village.

The land the building stands on is Crown Land and we pay rent to the Crown Commissioners.

Entrance to the club is via the card coded doors on the right of the building and reveals a carpeted reception area .The main lounge lies behind the two glass panelled doors on the left past the door keeper's desk. Entering the corridor straight ahead reveals a members bar on the left and Toilets on the right. A right angle in the corridor brings you to the entrance door of the main hall.

Main Lounge.

The Lounge is mainly carpeted with a wood strip flooring adjacent to the bar. The furnishing consists of comfortable tables and chairs with matching upholstered fixed seating around the periphery of the walls. The bar area takes up the best part of one wall with the opposite wall, has an arched alcove effect giving a dining and non smoking area.

A TV monitor is situated at the corner of the bar giving viewing options for mainly  sporting occasions for members entertainment including Sky transmissions. A Fruit machine is available for members only in the lounge.

Snooker Hall

Stairs at the end of the lounge lead to the snooker room which sports two full size tables (these are maintained to an excellent condition by a professional company under contract). The cost to members, for the use of the tables is 50p per half hour. The room also contains a cctv camera which surveys both tables transmitting an image to a monitor in the bar downstairs. In order to maintain control of the use of the two tables, members are requested to deposit their club cards when they will be handed the white cue ball for the table.

The club committee room and office lead from the snooker hall. The committee room facility is available for hire by external organisations.

Members  Bar

Back downstairs into the reception hall we find the Members bar which used to be the reserve of male members over 18 (until political correctness took over). This bar, which is again comfortably furnished,  with bar stools and tables and chairs  has it's own TV monitor. Board and card games are available for member's use.

Main Hall

The rear hall has an extensive bar area, Tables and chairs line the dance floor section, with fixed upholstered seating round the walls. At the far end is a stage for performers A drop down screen for monitoring television programmes is situated in front of the stage with a tv projector unit providing the images  To the right of the stage is a small kitchen for preparation of meals for members, visitors, and also for functions. The hall can be hired by members for anniversaries receptions, or Bar Mitzvahs' (Apply to Gill for hire costs.) The ambience is controlled by air conditioning. as per the rest of the building.

The above picture shows the stage end  shortly after refurbishment the flags and decorations were from the time when the world football cup competition was taking place.

Car Park

At the rear of the premises is a car park for approximately 20 cars

Just a joke folks!!!!
